Graduate
So, since the last time I posted I've finished my undergraduate schooling. I have a degree in communication with an emphasis on Journalism. Graduation day was kinda stressful for me. I would definitely not have made it without mom and Sam. Mom gave me pills and Sam kept me together. He got the boys to do the work during the move-out and mom helped me finish packing and cleaning up. It was an experience let me tell you.
I was thinking the other day that I don't know what I'm going to do come August and I'm not packing to move back to Starkville. It's a foreign thing for me to not be worrying about going back to school. For the past *almost* 20 years that's all I've done is go to school.
Wednesday was a little depressing. I was reading the newspaper and my name wasn't listed in the approved to teach section. I can't get in touch of anyone to ask why, but I've decided not to stress out too much about it. The teachers haven't even finished their contracts yet. I figure I might be approved after they know how many positions they need to fill.
I'm almost finished moving into my room at home. I finally got all my clothes and shoes sorted out and put up. I hung 4 of my pictures and figured out where to put the rest of them. Some of them are going to storage. I don't have room for all the pictures I want in there. I'm using one of the MSU pictures that I had in the stairway at Starkville.
I started work at the Tax Assessor's office Tuesday. The work is kinda irritating at sometimes. It stresses me out when I ink a line wrong. Oh well I'm learning! :)

oh my goodness
Ok, so I should recap the week and weekend.
Monday was calm. Kind of. I finished my paper and got ready to proof the kids papers.
Tuesday was a different day. I was so nervous about my presentation and it seems like I was for good reason. Sid decided to grill me about every little aspect of my presentation. I blanked and got nervous and almost started crying, but I kept it in. After that class, I was free as a bird. I went to the tanning bed and it was marvelous. Tuesday ended with exec and proofing papers. Neal's was really good. I knew I was going to have to do a lot of work on Jesse's and Summer's so I left them for Wednesday at work.
Wednesday I worked on Summer's paper. All I did was fix grammar and spelling. Wanda told me not to try to arrange it best because Summer should have done that. Jesse's was all copied straight from his sources. This was bad, very bad. So, I did some quick research and rewrote his whole paper. He better get a good grade is all I can say. I tried to work a little on Kimmen's paper, but I gave up. Chapter went FOREVER Wednesday night. We had nominations and discussion on positions. I found out a lot about the girls that were wanting positions. I think the chapter should have a pretty solid exec board. Granted, it's going to take them all working and trying to make the chapter more functional.
Thursday I went to classes. I'm glad I did though. I had a quiz in Physical Science and it was SO easy. I just hope the test is that easy. Thursday night was the concert. I think it went well. It was really sad. I cried a bunch. Mom and dad and Neal came to see me and I was so glad I could look out and see them. Mom brought me red roses. They were beautiful. They took us out to eat and Kimmen came. She sat with my parents. She seemed sad to not be singing, but she's going to get back in choir. Kimmen, of course, hit on the waiter. I think my parents were shocked she did because she just doesn't seem like the type. Well, they learned something about her that night :) Neal spent the night and slept on the couch. I hope he enjoyed spending the night away from home.
Friday I went to work til about 10. I went home and got Neal and Jasmine and we loaded up to leave. We drove through campus so Neal could see everything. He didn't want to get out and walk, so we didn't. It was about to rain anyway. We went home through Amory and of course the Railroad Festival was this weekend. It was really hot to be out there! Sam and I went to eat at Logan's. I just LOVE their fried mushrooms. You can't get any better!
Saturday I got up and mom and I went to her office. She taught me how to ink. It's pretty easy and kind of relaxing. I just need to remember to take my laptop so I'll have some noise in that little room. Amber's grandfather, Jimmy Palmer, died and his funeral was Saturday. I went down there to sign the book and see him and hoped Mrs. Denise or Amber would be there, but they weren't. I did talk to Mrs. Sundra Sabine though. She told me to go apply at the high school because there was a rumor of the 9th grade English teacher leaving. The position would be offered to Joseph Jones who is currently teaching Title I. If he gets the 9th grade job, the Title I position will be open. I really wouldn't mind that job. It's got a smaller classroom, but the same curriculum as the other classes. There is a possibility that I could take the journalism class too. I went back to mom's office and we stayed til 1 working on the cookbook and inking stuff and then went to get Chinese. The buffet is good and the sweet tea is AMAZING. Then we went to Wal-Mart. I love going to Wal-Mart at home because I always see people I know. I hadn't seen Mrs. Pat McCormack, my mentor for Juniorettes from high school, since I graduated in 2004. It was SO great to see her. We talked about what I was doing now and what I was planning on doing next year. Mrs. Teresa McNeece was in there too. I went and asked her if she got my application and she said she sure did and it was going to the board as soon as the next meeting. I was very pleased. We went home and were really tired. I went to Sam's and he cooked me baked catfish. It was so yummy. I also made Mac and Cheese. I love eating Mac and Cheese sometimes. When I got back home there were some rank strangers in my house. Well, Wendy and Scott Martin. They were a lot of fun. Wendy said I reminded her of my Aunt Teresa.
Sunday was hectic. I got up that morning and jumped in the shower. Then, while daddy was cooking breakfast I prepared lunch. I wanted meatloaf so mom bought the stuff and I made it. I made two big loaves so I could take some back to Starkville with me. We went to church and I was kinda freaked out when the preacher called a donkey an ass twice in the service. I just don't think he should have done that. It's not very proper, but at least he didn't just up and say, "Because that's what it is. It's an ass. It's ok for Brother Doug to say that because that's really what it is," like he sometimes will. After church we went home and I prepared the sauce to cover the meatloaf and made sauteed veggies. Everybody seemed to love them. After lunch we went and started painting. Kelli came down and we painted stars on the sheet. I drew the rest of the wagon so Kelli and Mom could paint it and know where the lines were. Kelli was fun. It was so hot outside, but I enjoyed being in the sun. After that, I went to Sam's to get some peace and quiet. He was gone fishing so I had the house pretty much to myself and I worked on Kimmen's paper. I finished it at about 7:30 then went to visit with mawmaw and pawpaw and email it to her. They had shrimp and hushpuppies so I ate there. Then I went back to Sam's and fell asleep til mom called. I went home and helped her do laundry. Then I crashed.
This morning I got up and go the rest of my clothes folded and in the car then Jasmine and I left. I put $18 of gas in my car so I would have 2 dollars for breakfast in West Point. I had a sausage biscuit and hashbrowns. I took Jas home and came to work where I plan on learning Physical Science today. Yay!
This is my last week of regular classes. Sam says I'm going to start getting all depressed and when they come to move me out I'll start crying. Maybe not!
Next week is exams. Mine start Tuesday and I have one a day til Friday. Then it's all over.

Long weekend
I am so ready to go home. This place is trying my patience. I mean, 4 years is about all I could handle of Starkville. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I know in 3 weeks it is over. No more school. No more projects. I would say no more stress, but that's just a fantasy. And I probably need to take back those other two statements too. I'm pretty sure I have more school in my future and with school comes projects. Oh well, at least I'm done for now and can have a little break.
Friday I worked til 3 then went and helped Kimmen price stuff for the garage sale. She got enough outfits to be clothed for 30 days without any repeats! It's always good when people give away clothes. I got some new stuff from Sarah. I haven't worn any of mine yet because I've been trying to be comfortable this weekend. I got dressier clothes from Sarah. I left there at 7:15 to go to rehearsal for Te Deum. We were done by 8:00, so I went back to the apartment to get to bed.
Saturday, I worked at the yard sale from 4:30 - 6:00. Immediately after that i went back to bed. I slept til 11:30 and went to help move risers. Maggie was there and we talked for a long while. Then I went home and it was sunny, so I called Kimmen and we went to the dog park with Jasmine. The big dogs freaked her out, but she had a lot of fun and ran out a LOT of energy. Well I was in a good mood so I made coleslaw then I swept the kitchen. That made me realize the increasing need for vacuuming. So I vacuumed to living room and the stairs and the landing upstairs. The dust was just piled up on them, and it hasn't been done since the first time I did it...it desperately needed doing. Then I realized how nasty the kitchen floor was so I mopped. I made it all clean. Liz came home and was asking me if we were going to have a party that night. Well, we decided on it and 2 hours before call for the concert, Kimmen, Liz, and I set out for the store. We got liquor and jell-o. We made jell-o shots and punch and it was all fantastic. Kimmen left and Liz and I got ready for the concert. Kimmen came back over and we left. After the concert we ate with Diane and Steve (Maddie's parents). They paid for all of us (Kimmen, Maddie, Ryan, Liz, and me). It was really sweet and her parents are just adorable! We left Applebee's and went straight to the apartment. Liz and I changed clothes and we went downstairs and were just getting comfortable when people started showing up. It was slow goings at first, but then the party picked up and we just had a blast! I ended up sleeping on the couch because when Kimmen spends the night I end up with random bruises all over me. She's a kicker.
Sunday morning I got up with plenty of time to go to church. I was waiting on Amy to call me and she never did, so I gave up on that and turned on a movie. Kimmen came downstairs and joined me and we decided we were hungry. We went to La Magnolia and we ordered, and ended up not being able to eat. I have a whole chimichanga in my fridge now. After we ate, I took a shower and got ready to go to Sarah's to start preparing for the cook in. I go there and it was just me and Jenn. We talked for a while. I thawed the chicken and started making a bouquet of paper flowers. They were cute. I made bar-b-que chicken. It was so good. It was just falling off the bones! All three of our MITs were there. We watched Batman Begins. I feel like Annelisa is opening up more now. She's so shy sometimes I was worried. Jenny and Liz R. were already open to all of us so I didn't really have to worry about them. I stayed there til around 8:30 or so and wen to the apartment. I was so worn out I crashed. I slept fitfully.
This morning, I got up and got dressed for work and finished my paper for Sid's class. I'm so glad I'm done with that. It's been making me nervous for a while. Tomorrow I give a presentation on it. I'm just hoping it goes smoothly.

Weekend Recap
Friday morning I took the Praxis I. I scored 183 on both the Math and Reading sections. I have to wait on my scores from the Writing section, but I'm optimistic. I took the 4 hour test in only 2 hours.
I also applied for a teaching job in Itawamba County on Friday. With Mom's help, I got an application in at the central office and a resume at Mantachie. I'm doing this so I can be emergency certified to teach. I will be unable to take the Praxis II before the MAPQT class starts. MAPQT is the alternate route program I had picked. The program picks the people who will be in it by the end of May and the Praxis II is only given in June.
Friday night, Theta Beta from Jacksonville State came into town. We were at Sarah's til about midnight. I was absolutely worn out. Saturday, Holly (our P.O.) came into town and we had Province Day. We had a lot of fun and got to know the Theta Betas better. After that, mom called and said they were leaving Jackson and would be in Starkville at around 6:30. We went to eat at Chili's. She and daddy and Neal, Gunner, and Sam and all gone down to watch the Indoor Drumline thing at Ridgeland High School. Jesse plays in it and they won! So that was exciting.
Sunday, I spent the day in bet. I slept from 9:00 Saturday night til 10:00 Sunday morning. I woke up for about 2 hours and then went back to sleep for another 2 hours. I think I finally caught up on sleep.
I had a lazy day Sunday and today I'm at work. I'm going to be writing my uncertainty reduction theory paper and making my powerpoint. I'm hoping to finish this by Wednesday.

the Lord works in mysterious ways
Yesterday morning I did my checking balance. I was down to about $22.00. I needed to get medicine refilled and buy my dog some food. It was going to be more than $22 and I was preparing myself to call mom and get her to put some money in my account.
I walked out the door and saw the mailman driving away. Kimmen was expecting something from Shannon so I went down to check the mail. I found a card for me. I opened it and it was from mom. It also contained $30.00. I was thrilled. I called mom and thanked her for the sweet card and the money and told her I was about to have to call her to ask for some money. Needless to say, I got the dog her food and my medicine and some things that I needed. I still had money left over to be able to go get food last night.
I found out that it is so hard to cook for myself. I just don't see the point. Standing in the kitchen for 30 minutes waiting on my food for one to cook. I hate it. So, I think I'm just going to start having people over every night so I can cook the food I have. I did volunteer to make BBQ chicken for the Luau SAI is having. The Angel Food Ministries box came with this whole bag of leg and thigh pieces. I'm not fond of those pieces, so, I'm making the chicken for the Luau! Fantastic! I'm also thinking about going and getting the makings for coleslaw (Sam's version). The girls loved it the last time I made it. It's got mustard, mayonnaise, onion, sugar, and pepper. It really is fantastic.
Now I'm going to work on Kimmen's book report thing so she can take it to the teacher and get some help if needed. Stupid teacher is grading really tough.
I'm still looking forward to May.

Looking forward to May
So, my stressful week is over and it leads into Stressful Month.
April is a doozy for me. This week I don't have any tests, unless you count the Praxis that I'm planning on taking Friday afternoon. I get paid today and will promptly turn around and set up my test time. I've heard it's like taking the ACT and that I'll be fine. I started stressing myself out over everything I have to do yesterday. I still have to write a big paper for Advanced Comm Theory...I have 15 days to get the paper written and the presentation ready. Then, I'm going to be reading a book and writing some summaries for Kimmen. They shouldn't be hard and I'm not super stressed over that. Then, I have to write a paper for Political Communication so that my slacker group will make a good grade. Somewhere in there I still have a test in Poli Comm and a test in Physical Science to take. Probably another test in that Church class that I hate too. I need to take the Praxis II somewhere in there too. That's just the school stuff.
April also means going home for one weekend and one night. April is Province weekend, Te Deum rehearsal and concert, Yard Sale, Choir Concert, Relay for Life, Formal, Initiation, Sarah's Senior Recital, Officer installation and Senior Commitment. April is Finals. April is trying to find a permanent job. April is signing up for MAPQT class and hoping I get accepted.
But! April leads to May. May is Graduation, starting my summer job, and the Beach! These are all the things I can be super excited about...if only I can get through April. So, to get through April, I plan on Sundays at a dog park with a camera. Starkville has a Dog Park now and I think Jasmine would just adore being able to go and play in the sunshine with some new dogs. Thank God the dog has decided to start sleeping later. That whole her waking me up at 5 in the morning thing was killing me.
